Gilbert starts out by mentioning that most critics of postmodernism associate it with extreme relativism. Which reminds me of an insight in 1 of Ken Wilber's books, where Wilber says that the only thing a committed relativist considers universal is the correctness of relativism. It's a paradox I've found fascinating ever since.
