🇩🇿 Algeria, 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia & 🇰🇼 Kuwait presented 3 amendments seeking to remove references to key findings of the climate ruling. Attempts to erase responsibility, science, or legal obligations from this resolution will neither place States above the law nor shield them from accountability.

After multiple attempts by a few countries to delay & derail the process, UN States voted to keep all amendments together & vote on them. UNGA president keeps her eye on the ball: "We could debate the rules of procedures further, but at some point we will need to bring this process to an end".

🥁🥁🥁 At the 🇺🇳 UN General Assembly, States voted to adopt the climate accountability resolution, as tabled by Vanuatu with no changes! What a win for #ClimateJustice: ✅ 141 in favor, ❌ 8 against, 🙊 28 abstentions! The resolution is NOW adopted!
