Anyone around here using MeshCore? I might soon get my first device. Would be interesting to see if there is a possibility to communicate outside of the MeshCore CZ range (I'm yet to get my device and configure stuff).
@maxmortillaro Not yet, got a Lilygo portable device (T-Deck Plus Meshstatic), but first want to install a #meshcore or #meshstastic repeater in my garden and my parents garden.
@ErikBussink @maxmortillaro I've been reading up on the differences between meshcore and meshtastic -- seems like meshcore is the more modern and reliable solution at this point. Lots of chatter that meshtastic is too unreliable for anything useful.

@slacy @ErikBussink some people say Meshtastic is great to build smaller, private p2p networks between friends, while meshcore has a more "backbone" style / approach.

I will be trying MeshCore in the Czech Republic, seems there's a quite active community over here.

@ErikBussink I wanted to get a Lillygo but thought I'd start easy first to get a feel of how things work.

I'd love to get the entire family on a Lillygo but that is yet one of my future "failed projects" trying to onboard "customers" without understanding their requirements (they don't care about my geeky stuff).

@maxmortillaro I've not touched it at all.
However, some of my HAM radio amateur friends are busy with it and - from what I understand - operate a meshtastic repeater for it.
The repeater is located at the same spot as their other ham radio repeaters, with which I have helped out.
On top of a high rise building here in the city.
They also have a HAM net connection down there.
It's all very geeky. :)
