A bad hair day

A soggy male splendid fairywren (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Splendid_fairywren) at Banyowla Regional Park near Perth, Australia

I know how he feels, but without the plumage.

@Wen

It’s beautiful, but photos like this always make me a little sad. There was a time when we could "trust" what we saw; now, with LLMs, I can’t help but wonder whether an image like this is 100% real or not.

@booboo @Wen For starters, it would help, if we actually l i n k e d to the content we find worth sharing.

@katzentratschen @booboo That was not the source of the photo when I saw it. I simply like it, and credited the photographer.
@Wen @booboo If it was a legitimate repost, you could have linked it. If it wasn't, you could have searched for the source. That's what I did.
@Wen @booboo (A lot of AI pictures attach a random photographer's name to appear more realistic. In other cases, real photos get reposted without consent.)
@katzentratschen @booboo It is credited in The Times to the photographer and the agency. I would be very surprised if they did not pay to use if from the agency
@Wen @booboo In your first post, you didn't mention where you picked it from nor did you link to this article. So nobody else knows it without searching for it.
@katzentratschen @booboo It was a casual observation. Lighten up and get off your high horse
@katzentratschen @booboo It actually came from a daily newspaper. So crediting the photographer (as the Times does) was in my opinion adequate. I don’t have time to fossick around beyond that.
