Having an unproductive time on 20m FT8 this morning. It's simultaneously too busy and my signal not getting out. I'm using my own 49:1 UnUn which is probably rubbish, the antenna went out of band and something is wrong. Probably me.

I think I need to redo this antenna on Friday morning. Sitting on my arse for the whole morning doom-scrolling isn't productive.

I've got a pile of recent 2000AD mags to read, for starters.

My lack of success is also due to every freq I pick up for TX is being used by someone with a loud voice minutes later. Obviously they don't hear me. Maybe the skip zone is helping but I'm pretty sure I'm being drowned at the remote end. I'm only putting out 25W transmitted.

@M0KHR should be more than enough, you need to change band.

The only time I do analog ssb voice is during contests. If they need the point they can hear me and make the effort.

Always check #FT4 the less time for qso, the easier they will choose to sink their time into you...

@LeoBistmans When there's no one else on the FT4 section, there's no point repeatedly calling CQ there.
