It’s a heist. You’re watching an armed heist in broad daylight and the man leading it is asking you to be happy about your money being stolen from you and your family."

"Ask yourself: Why would a settlement over leaked tax filings include a prohibition on examinations of previously filed returns?

One answer, which lots of people are missing: For years, Trump has been fighting an IRS audit that could have resulted in a $100M bill. No longer, apparently."

"Harry Dunn and Daniel Hodges, two law enforcement officers who clashed with Jan. 6 insurrectionists, have sued to block the Trump 'slush fund'.

They're asking a federal judge to find the creation of the fund illegal and reverse any transfers that Treasury has made to DOJ to implement it."

"This was over the 'anti-weaponization' fund. Blanche came to brief Republicans, and it did not go well. There would have been easily enough votes in both chambers to put in language preventing it, but that also may have killed the entire bill.

So instead they’re giving up for now and going home.

What this means however is that it gets to go forward for now. Leadership giving up here also works to protect Trump."

I just love that everyone is calling this thing a slush fund. I would prepend that with "illegal," but I'll take what I can get. Baby steps.
