@zarfeblong I got the four (spoiler) but haven’t ended my game yet but I like strategy games

Two things of note

1) you don’t always advance the plot by winning - you can also advance some aspects by losing

2) it only is sort of match-3 because the Court and any structures you have with you can move around; this ends up being a vital trick for the trickier parts

@zarfeblong also the “chapter 2” bit is absolutely worth looking at (I’m guessing from your post you haven’t seen it, is not about finding (spoiler))

Might be worth finding a video

@jdyer I knew about the losing battles (I think I accidentally speed-ran comfort).

Having now read some more commentary from the author, I think “find videos of the stuff you missed" is the wrong goal. I saw what I saw.

@zarfeblong fair enough!

I want to talk about THING and also OTHER THING I DIDN'T MENTION THAT WAS JAW-DROPPING WHEN I FIRST CAME ACROSS IT and I really want to find something to talk about but I don't know who to ask!

@zarfeblong I thought the color palette might have been "CGA but less eye-searing" but there was a recent interview where he said he's bad at choosing colors and doing visual art so he just looked at Downwell's color palettes and picked his favorite one: that specific quote is at

but the question and a little further discussion starts about a minute and a quarter earlier at 7:14.

@JoshGrams Ah, good to know.

(Or maybe not -- it was fun not knowing -- but I don't blame the answer for existing. :)

@zarfeblong "Match-3 actively bores me." Did you look in the mirror? There is something on the other side that helps with that.
@finagle I did look in the mirror, but that’s about the last thing I did before getting the chance to finish.
