Here’s the actual screening I went to last night (I confused everyone by including Mando and Grogu in my photos). It was Spider-Noir — the first two episodes. It premieres on May 27, 2026, you can choose whether to watch it in either “Authentic Black & White” or “True-Hue Full Color”.

We watched the first episode in B&W and it was gorgeous on the big screen (probably the best theater in San Francisco both for projection and sound), nailing all the #noir tropes, full of long deep shadows, moody weather, and interesting camera angles.

I was sure I’d hate the color second episode, but I enjoyed it just as much. Even though it was in full color, the cast/timing they used kept me right in the noir mood. Nicolas Cage and Li Jun Li were spectacular and spot on. ILM special effects were flawless.
