(💜 marielle) A question my system thought of a while back but only figured out how to word it just now:

if an artist posts a picture or video of one (or multiple) of their OCs, you reply as if you want to interact with the OCs, and the artist replies back (alluding to) letting you interact with the OC(s), how would you interact?

I would think the artist would be willing to role-play as the OC, but my system has never seen this explicity mentioned in any artist's bio or pinned posts (i.e. consenting to such interactions), so we would be interested to know what artists and users think about such a boundary?

@Chishiki611 I wouldn't personally do any RP as my OCs with fans, but that's just due to the nature of the characters & my own inability to roleplay

I think if you set out an intent to roleplay with the artist as a given character / within a reference frame and they are down for it, then go for it! Just like any other kind of RP both parties have to consent and be onboard to have fun for it to work.
@celestiallavendar (💜) our thoughts exactly :3
@Chishiki611 hmm, I think probably the best idea would be to just ask on an individual basis
@hazelnot (💜) we have been thinking that, too, but most artists (implicitly) have a no-DM boundary, so it can feel awkward for us to ask.

@Chishiki611 why not ask publicly? Like as a reply to a post or something

Also do they have that implicit boundary? The only other place I've heard that claim from has been, uh, my anxiety 😅
