i vaguely put together the amount of time I've spent on it since my birthday near the end of april (I'm using the 'birthday rule' to be guaranteed acceptance without underwriting) and it's like:
- ~4 hours looking into how to make it happen originally and comparing companies and plans
- 1 hour to try to get my quote online only to find out you must call in if you're under 65
- ~3 hours calling the company i chose, getting repeatedly transferred to the wrong dept and given the wrong #
- another ~1 hour actually calling the right # and getting a quote and the forms sent out, since i ran out of time the first go-around
- 2 hours working on the forms and calling them & my bank to ask questions along the way
- 30 min on friday finding out I couldn't submit it without talking to the rep who sent it first (??)
- 2 hours today finding out that I was sent the wrong form, but thankfully getting the rep who has made the rest of this into (hopefully) a smooth resolution
... so, 4+1+3+1+2+0.5+2 =
nearly 14 hours on this so far, and that's not counting any of the time i put into the EBT/calfresh stuff a few weeks ago
