NATIVE #MUTUALAID

🧵 I've struggled with housing insecurity for a long time. I live on SSDI, which isn't enough to really live at all. Community care has saved my life.

I have a briefing tomorrow where I'll receive my housing assistance voucher. I still have to find an apartment so I'm not out of the woods yet but tomorrow I will have something tangible to hold on to, a symbol of stability and hope. I need help getting there please.

A roundtrip Lyft is $40. I can't miss my briefing otherwise

I get put back on the waiting list. It took 2 years and 4 months to get selected and then it was only because I was randomly selected by a computer due to disability. I don't know how long it would be if I was wait listed again. I do know that I'm incredibly lucky and that there's probably zero chance I'll be randomly selected again.

I'm at $0 for today and I missed goal for yesterday. Altogether $375 is needed

to cover room, Rx pickup, supplies for my upcoming fellowship, Lyft to OCHA for my housing voucher, and food (I am super hungry and my stomach is growling) please.

I know times are hard and it's a very big ask. If there's any way anyone can help chip away at it I'd be so grateful. I'm so close to a life where I don't wake up wondering if I'll have a room to stay in and food to eat, a life where maybe I can have a chance to breathe. It's been so long since

I had that kind of safety I'd honestly given up believing it would ever possible for me.

Tomorrow is waiting for me, full of possibilities and a hope I haven't felt in years. I'm humbly asking that you please help me get there.

Mvto.
