I genuinely adore Alpine Linux. One of the main reasons I work on postmarketOS is because its based on Alpine. I think it is has a very well-designed base stack and I like musl. I actually ran Alpine Linux on my main machine for a bit before systemd was added to pmOS. I rarely have bad experiences with the developers and the community is generally kind. There's always some bad apples, like in all communities, but in general, Alpine's quite good.

#AlpineLinux

@justsoup yeah shout out to alpine! one of the best features about alpine is how easy it is to add a package there: just create an APKBUILD and submit a MR. Even though the docs are somewhat lacking, the experience of doing the same to other distros like Ubuntu or GNOME OS is much much harder.

@justsoup I run Alpine currently on most of my boxes. The work computer and some of my server machines are the exceptions. And if proxmox ran on top of Alpine, I'd probably move one of the servers to that too.

I'm kinda interested in making a spin on Alpine for desktop with dinit though...

But seriously, Alpine is so good, and while I haven't participated in the community much, from what I have seen I do think I'd like most of the people.
