Been playing some roguelike deckbuilders on #SteamDeck, as is my wont. I might try to start regularly sharing a few thoughts here about the ones I play.

I like leaving positive reviews on Steam for games I really enjoy, but it feels harsh to leave a negative review when it might directly impact the developer. And to leave feedback you must give a yes/no rating!

Let's start with the positive. Dogpile feels amazing! Such a joyful game just to interact with, it really has "juice" even if the actual strategy may not be the deepest.

I had no expectations going in, but I've already put in 2 hours today (and come agonisingly close to winning a run). Now I'm looking forward to this being my main game for the next few days or weeks.

Great that it works seamlessly with touchscreen controls, too.

Now for the less positive. I was really looking forward to Die in the Dungeon since playing the demo months ago (something I almost never do).

Unfortunately it just doesn't feel great to me. Not sure why exactly, the lack of obvious synergies or the busy, cumbersome interface. The controller support is awkward, with buttons changing depending on context so you can't develop a mental model.

I want to like this, so I'll try again with touchpad input.
