Clearly a harvester ant. the way they have cleared their highway suggests these are in the Messor genus. Possibly Messor wasmanni, but I have no real idea.

I found their nest. Observe their diverse worker types, and how they use trial and error to carry things into their nest. Not just strong and elegant, brainy too!
