#inventory #organization #selfhosting

@solimanhindy I love homebox! I have all of my sponges, bottles of supplies, and locations of various rope all tagged categorized my location in my house!
@ryan Thanks for your feedback! I'll be using #homebox for my spare hardware ;)
@solimanhindy if you need to categorize your home lab, if if you're into that, there's a tool called netbox that works great.

@ryan Aw thanks for netbox. Well I'm selfhosting several services for my family, friends and me. My hardware is refurbished and I have to be prepared if my hardware fails.

My needs is simple: inventory all my spare hardware. I wonder if #netbox is not too much. I'll have a look at it! Thanks 🙂

@solimanhindy I mostly use home box for, you know, home stuff that's scattered across my house, shed, garage. It allows you to track units so you can decrement as you use things. It might work for you, but maybe something like koillection might also work. My son uses this for his can collection actually.

@solimanhindy

@ryan If that's your sole/primary need I'd say netbox is overkill

@lionel @solimanhindy I agree. Netbox is more for your active configuration, IP configuration management, Network topology kind of stuff. For extra stuff lying around, it might not be of best use.
