left behind

I am left behind, apparently. That is what you are if you choose not to use 'AI', as the many consumer LLM's are labelled and purported to be these days. I w...

This is so me πŸ˜‚

I really dont mind being left behind, seems so much simpler.

@JaxVent @scribblanitea I am choosing to be left behind more as I get older, I have always loved tech and computers, but not the direction things seem to be moving in. It is not benefiting the world or us, the humans living here.

100%. I'm making much more considered choices in where my time and money goes, as it feels like the only power I have.

@scribblanitea Easy paying with the app is some special thing over there, or at least we don't have it here. If people want to accept cards, and they generally would because otherwise people like me won't have any cash on them to give them, they have a POS-terminal, sometimes a QR code, or just give you their card number written (I paid for greens at a produce fair today by shaking my phone and picking one of the names, but that's specific to this particular bank, and I've never done that before). Convenient, but weird, and only 3 numbers and 2 taps involved.
But _installing an app to pay_? What kind of barbaric place that island is!
@scribblanitea is clicking the star optional?

@scribblanitea Great post.

Where I live, the local council has just done a thing where all the car parks are now on all the parking apps, so you never need to do the "download and register new app when you've got no signal so give up and find somewhere else to park" ritual.

It was a fantastic achievement... Until you realise how insane it is that this was a problem that needed solving. Yay capitalism.

@scribblanitea Ooh, hard relate my fellow left behinder. Hard relate.
