Why oh why is everyone switching to "passwordless logins"?

What, you mean having to fart around finding an email with a code in is "easier" than just tapping my thumbprint to unlock my password manager?

And by "more secure" you mean any attacker that gains access to my email can just log into anywhere without even having to jump through password reset hoops?
