It's the kind of day* that calls for a loop of Purrfect.
*there is no day that doesn't call for that
*_* Japan live poster ?!
Wait.
Oh, right.
Well that was bound to happen at least once.

Getting huge issues with my PC's mouse... Purrfect came up on the random playlist and it was autonomously set to "loop".
Well. Guess I have to listen to Purrfect for a couple of hours now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I mean, at least that's a paid gig, right ?
(right...?)
What the f*ck is wrong with this company that they spend so much money on promotion and yet can't pull anything better than this ?
Alright, their first music show EVER ! Finally ! Ahead of the comeback next week, so this was my first time hearing DA$H too.
On the bright side, the mics are definitely on...
I'm not fully sure a live performance is the best setting for a song like that. It's similar to Tea in the sense that it's a slow burn. I do look forward to the music video though. That sh*t better be moody af.

Finally the day of VVS' first comeback* has come !

*also 1st anniversary

VV$ = not bad at all. A bit rap-heavy for me, but the chorus works.
A$K = a smooth one. It's a pretty good f*ck song, too.
COUNT IT UP = not bad. The traditional sample in the back is its main originality, but that leads to a DELICIOUS bridge.
DA$H = yeah see I knew the studio version would work better than the live one. Moody f*ck song. Music video premiere in a few minutes btw.
BOTTLES = no, thank you. It's nice to offer but no thank you.
MIXIN' THANG$ = ooh I f*ck with that, especially the chorus. This only confirms it : this entire release is smooth as hell. It feels like they're really leaning into a particular feel with this comeback, a type of RnB not a lot of Kpop has adopted for anything but a sporadic B-side. But VVS goes all in on it, and I frankly like it better than the rap-heavy stuff.
VAMOS = finaf*ckingly... we've heard previews of it last year ! And it DELIVERS. It's the fun song of the comeback.
And lastly
$TAY THE NIGHT = why wasn't THIS the song they performed live ? That was the ticket ! It combines a great vibe with the more catchy, danceable style that works on a stage. That's the stuff. This chorus is such an earworm... Oh that's such a shame !
(ok I'll take a performance of $TAY THE NIGHT if we don't have one for VAMOS)
Premiere of the $TAY THE NIGHT music video incoming in 2 minutes. Purrfect timing.

Budgeeeeeet !
A better performance than before (it doesn't hurt that there is a more significant backtrack to rely on). I still don't get why this is the song they promote this comeback with. Like I get that there are lyrics issues with any other tracks that mainstream Korean TV would object to, but guess what, DA$H is beeped out anyway ! And it's so hard to hook people with it.
VAMO$ for instance would be catchier for an audience who doesn't know VVS.

Check. This. Out.
A "challenge" with KISS OF LIFE Julie : https://youtube.com/shorts/mxzPGdANOQ8
(it might also say a little something about KIOF's place in the current pecking order but still)

Ok but why did the 5 of them need to be on the yacht then ? 😅

Also : BOTTLE$ music video incoming 🤯
How many MVs for this one comeback ? I'm no fan of the song but I'm curious if there's going to be a story or if it's more about the girls celebrating their heist.
VAMO$ MV when ?
Look who announced a comeback FOR OCTOBER a few hours ago... Another rap-heavy song it seems. I'm still hoping for a catchy bop like Purrfect but I don't think we're getting those anytime soon with VVS, it doesn't seem to be the direction chosen.
(yesterday was a busy day in my corner of the world :P )
Also released : a MIXIN' THANG$ lyric video. Which makes no mystery of how and why Brittney is promoted as the face of the group.
(you can tell this group is not as immersed in the Kpop culture as others by how freely the girls are shown in the smallest of bikinis...)

Oh. So as predicted it IS fanservicy, but there's an interesting detail about it : the music video is 99% made of shots of Brittney and Lena... the only two members who are older than 21. Rana & Ilee briefly show up (but sitting by the pool and framed less suggestively), and Liwon, the only minor in the group, appears to be in exactly 0 shots.
