We finally have the front camera on the #pixel3a running upstream linux-next! These pictures were taken on the May 8 tree with no extra patches, suggesting this could land in v7.2 upstream.

Thanks to @rmader for adding the orientation metadata and the kernel community for the code reviews!

The subsystem maintainers sometimes don't submit their linux-next commits for the next -rc1, but I don't remember it having happened in this subsystem.

@pan thanks! it was a really long process with the first version of patches sent in June 2025, but I'm glad the long discussions are more or less resolved.
