What was your local #GenX arcade called?

"Galactikan One" for me. I clipped coupons to get 8 tokens for a dollar & played the *&$# outta Tron, Warlords & Sinistar. 😁

Golfland.

Was that the Golfland USA on El Camino? I'm 55yo & I still play there once a year with my kid.

(Plus nachos & an Icee 😜)

Nachos & Icee ftw!

The Golfland of my younger years was was the one in Milpitas. I have played at the one on El Camino when I was in high school. The one close to me is the one in South San Jose on Blossom Hill. I haven't visited in a long time though.
@kurtsh mine was at the local bowling alley, where I loved to play Joust

Yeah, used to do that when I was 7-8yo living in the Pacific. Bowling was one of the only things families could do in the middle of the ocean. Honestly, I don't miss the pervasive smell of the shoe disinfectant though. 😜

Although I love modern bowling alleys. Lucky Strike & Bowlero are amazeballs & I don't have to "ration my tokens" like when I was a kid. 😁

@kurtsh we didn't bowl there much. Mostly snuck out of the house around 11p, pushed my friend's moped down the street until we were far enough away from her house to start it, and then go to the arcade inside the bowling alley to play video games. This was like 1985 ish

I have so much respect for you right now. 😜

I used to bike to the arcade with my allowance back 1982-83 to drop toke s into the Star Wars vector stand up & Sinistar.

And occasionally I'd get suckered into playing Dragon's Lair. Damn, I hated that game.
