Why can't I reply to this specific user's comment?

The title.

Got blocked, probably
Just make a new account and reply ez fix lol
check the modlog to see if you’re banned from that community?

OP created the post that the person commented on, their modlog is empty, and modlog for the community only has 1 unrelated entry. Doesn’t appear to be the case.

Here’s the thread in question lemmy.world/post/46714867

SGU-esque SG-1 and SGA - Lemmy.World

Started rewatching SG-1 for the… I’ve lost count, but it’s definitely more than five. Anyway, watching some of the “innocent” early episodes, such as when ::: spoiler spoiler Daniel is reunited with Sha’re only to lose her again for good, ::: I wish they could remake the whole series in the same dark, gritty, sweaty, bloody, somber, docu style like SGU. 😊

Maybe they’ve blocked you.
If so, that’s a piefed-specific feature. People I’ve blocked have definitely responded to me.

I guess then if the person decided to block OP after replying to OP, they could effectively lock in their statement without rebuttal from the person they block. Seems… odd.

Especially here since it’s between two users from the same instance but in a lemmy community. So there could be something going on with compatibility there?

Call it serendipity, because they’re right.
Yeah, the world really didn’t need Stargate: Voyager.
SGU was good by the end of Season 2. SG1 had a terrible first season that was redeemed by its final episodes. SGU had a stronger first season.
i think you mean stronger season 2. SEASON 1 is terrible, lack of aliens or any significant outside threats, just cheesy drama. in post-sgu interviews they were going have much heftier arcs involve the drone builders, planetbuilders. they did an ama on stargate sub, and said the 3rd season was going to have destiny drop out prematurely and encounter the drone builders.
I meant it had the stronger first season vs SG1
