Im not saying I hate billionaires..

Haha who am I kidding.. I do hate them♥️

A good billionaire does not exist

What I mean is that I personally think billionaires are non good per definition

If where to get a billion today I’ll sure I’ll spend most of it on charity and people who really need it so i won’t be a billionaire anymore

It’s insane we need to beg billionaires for donations for cancer research while a government defunds those researchers and making a system possible for the ultra rich

Fuck the 1% seriously

@stux Seriously. It's a mathematical reality that if we have a million we can sustain that level.
A THOUSAND millions ?!?!? like, give away 999 million and you are still a millionaire.
@stux The problem is a certain percentage of humans are messed up in such a way that they still feel a greedy need to be the "most wealthy" rather than simply being satisfied with everything they could ever need or want. You are psychologically normal, but the ultra wealthy seem to be abnormal.

@stux Agreed.

All of them are motherfuckers, and that includes the beloved pop star, the superstar athlete, the philanthropist, and the guru who cosplays as middle class.

You don't earn a billion dollars. You steal it via ethically-repugnant but legal means, and they should not exist in the first place. That's especially true with all the social problems in the countries where they do exist.

@FlashMobOfOne @stux Or they inherit it?
@trebach Yes, the inheritors too. Motherfuckers.
@stux I think in the process of becoming a billionaire you have to make a lot of choices that select for you being the kind of person that is uncharitable and selfish. Someone who isn't that way would get off the train long before that

@athousandcateaus @stux I think this is what does it for me.

Can you imagine thinking, "I deserve ANOTHER million dollars" while others don't have enough food? It boggles the mind.

@windigo @stux it kind of feels like when someone becomes a billionaire they essentially just take on the perspective and incentives of capital itself. It seems like being Elon Musk would be just a fundamentally empty experience.
@stux But what would you do if someone valued your Mastodon site at a billion dollars? Can't sell it really. Just have to stay holding this billion dollar asset while getting no use from it. You'd be poor, and a billionaire, both at once!
@stux Naturally there is a counter example: the person who founded Patagonia. The company took off more or less by accident - they were making clothing for climbers and for some reason the general public liked it too. They apparently treat their employees very well and help fund environmental programs. As I recall, they put the billions in a trust to keep all this going. Entry-level employees get the same benefits as the CEO.
