Modern seamed stockings are easier to wear than vintage ones, but they’re still designed with suspenders in mind. They’re not built to stay up on their own like hold-ups.
Suspenders keep them in position, help maintain the line of the seam, and stop them from slipping or twisting during wear. https://www.whatkatiedid.com/collections/seamed-stockings

@whatkatiediduk Also #Suspender #Stockings are way more comfortable to wear than #HoldUps, espechally for longer periods of time, as they don't "stick" to skin and obviously can have a lighter rim without sticky inside surface.

- And once stockings don't need to friction-hold on skin, they can be way lighter and softer overall…

All in all, way more comfortable.

Plus a decent #SuspenderBelt lasts verly long…

@F3715H Indeed. We actually stopped selling hold ups as a) a lot of people found the bands irritated their skin and b) a lot of them didn't 'hold up'. If anyone is desperate for them, I found the seamed holdups by Cervin the best, both comfy and durable. But that was many many years ago!

@whatkatiediduk Yeah...

I'd rather recommend a non-holdups version of the same #stockings and a decent suspender belt instead.
