Working class moms face so many challenges and hardships under this system — the skyrocketing cost of childcare and healthcare, unaffordable grocery prices and rent, an underfunded education and social security system and so much more.

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, let’s recommit ourselves to the movement for a new kind of society where moms and all working people have their basic needs guaranteed.

We need universal healthcare and childcare, schools not war, housing as a guaranteed right, and other measures that are clearly necessary but never seriously on the table under this dictatorship of the billionaires.

Moms deserve a new system — a socialist system where the needs of the people come first!

@majorlinux

Healthcare was expensive and complicated.

People want Universal Healthcare.

So we elected Democrats.

Democrats gave us the Affordable Healthcare "Act".

Now healthcare is expensive, complicated AND MANDATORY!

More money for the "healthcare industry".

Let's stop worshipping politicians and start holding them accountable for results.

Politicians will emotionally manipulate us, give us the warm fuzzies, while stabbing us in the back.

Let's not get hung up on Barry and Michelle, like they are Ken and Barbie, living large in the publicly funded doll house that is the White House.

No more politicians living large on our dime, adored like celebrities, while hiding from the hungry person on the street behind their publicly funded security detail.

Let politicians and popes walk on the street, and stand in the grocery line, like normal people. Let's not give them premium healthcare that we don't have.

You want Universal Healthcare? Get tough, get together, demand Universal Healthcare, and settle for nothing less.

No political stopgap, no incremental progress.

No closed doors diplomacy. No decisions made for the people in secrecy.

They are people, and if they do right, they should not need special privileges, or security. They will have what everyone else has.

That, is the point of the billion dollar ballroom that Trump proposed.

The thing you have to understand about Obamacare is - he don't. 😂

@ashwin @majorlinux

Why are you blaming the Democrats when it's Bernie who always run on universal healthcare, what happened to Medicare for All?

@HakeemG @majorlinux

Both parties are in it together. Between them, they have the ideological bent of most of the voters covered.

Here in Japan, people like to be dutiful and meticulous. So the garbage cans have two openings, the left side is for cans, and the right one for bottles. If you are not stupid, you notice that they both empty into the same garbage bin. It's hogwash.

Likewise, the left versus right ideological split is a manufactured delusion, a ruse to make people think about their ideology, or if they don't think much, the team colors they are rooting for. All votes land in the same garbage bin.

Politics is a sham, a theater, something carried out with pomp, circumstance, and ceremony, to make people believe that their vote counts.

If you are scoffing with incredulity when I say that Democrats and Republicans are the same, believe me, I was exactly like that, till 2023.

In 2023 I was a Software Engineer with Federal clearance, working through Accenture Federal Services, for the US Department of Veterans Affairs. I saw the AFS executives collecting fat paychecks, while Veterans were homeless on the sidewalk. I called out the bad software practices at AFS, as an experienced engineer, and backed it up with calculations, calling out waste of public money that could be benefiting Veterans. I predicted that AFS projects would be delayed significantly. They started stonewalling me. The projects were delayed and the executives scapegoated and fired entire teams of people, abruptly, by email. They cut off a team leader's microphone on an all hands call, when she asked why her team was fired earlier that day. The corruption stank to high heaven. I turned whistleblower on them, and was soon terminated, and persecuted. Now I live in Japan, waiting for political asylum.

I was a democrat voter until then, though the persecution began on Biden's watch and continued on Trump's.

Here's my story, complete with documented receipts:

@ashwin @majorlinux

So you're saying Bernie is in on it too?

@HakeemG @majorlinux

No idea. I don't think so personally. Bernie didn't win. Though I read his book, "How to Start a Political Revolution", and I am carrying the torch, to the next generation. I will take it as far as I can, though I am getting old ( not as old as Bernie, though 😂 ).

@ashwin @majorlinux

If he's not in on it, how come we haven't gotten Universal healthcare yet? He's been promising it for thirty years.

@HakeemG @majorlinux

He might have allied with a Big party as a political strategy, which didn't pan out, since the corruption goes so deep. He might have been thwarted by Big Money and/or backstabbed by other politicians.

He did so much work though.

We stand on the shoulders of Giants who came before us. The torch has been passed to us. The time has come for this reform to happen. Let's make it happen.

@ashwin @majorlinux

I'm not sure I understand. He's been in office in the Senate for thirty years, and he couldn't get this done?

@HakeemG @majorlinux

If you are an Obama fan, you could say that not even Obama, as President could not get us healthcare. So how could Bernie, as a senator?

By the way, the same logic applies to Hilary Clinton.

@HakeemG @majorlinux

By the way, have you seen the movie, "The Big Short" ? Worth watching. It says that the investigations into the 2008 market crash, and the fraudulent schemes surrounding it, were stopped abruptly under the Obama administration.

@ashwin @majorlinux

That's inaccurate. Don't believe everything you see in movies.

@HakeemG @majorlinux

What is the Truth then?

All I know is that the investigations stopped, were moved out of the spotlight of the news cycle, and were forgotten. Nobody followed up.

@ashwin @majorlinux

Who was being investigated?

@HakeemG @majorlinux

Watch the movie.

Many big parties were under investigation.

I urge you to not be defensive about one particular political party. Be objective, unbiased, and ruthless in your search for the truth.

Party loyalty is not getting it done.

@ashwin @majorlinux

Watch the movie? Really? Just name one person that was under investigation.

Why do I have to do the research? You can do it yourself.

Again, please get past political party loyalty, and stop being defensive, like you drank Blue Kool aid.

Who was being investigated about the market crash of 2008?

The Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission (FCIC) was the primary body established to investigate the causes of the 2008 financial crisis, gathering testimony from hundreds of witnesses including top banking officials, regulators, and economists. Key figures and institutions investigated included Hank Paulson (Treasury Secretary), Tim Geithner (Federal Reserve), Alan Greenspan (former Federal Reserve…

This links to "Inside Job", a documentary on the subject. Also an excellent movie, and a must watch.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inside_Job_(2010_film)

It's a documentary with footage of people under investigation.

The reddit article you linked, just uses weasel tactics to say how hard it is to pinpoint the exact people and parties responsible. Basically, it's a legalistic dodge, not a real answer.

Be unbiased if you want the truth. You will never find the truth with biases and preferences intact, because the truth might cause uncomfortable cognitive dissonance.

I worked on Wall Street for several major banks till that time. Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, etc.

I know some things, that I assume are common knowledge. Apparently not.
