Metro Exodus was as good as I remember it being. It feels substantially longer than the previous two, although maybe some of that was due to each chapter being a nonlinear open world with optional side objectives instead of a very linear plotline. I think I must have played on a harder difficulty before (this time was "normal"), because I breezed through areas I remember retrying A Lot before.

I like that there was a lot of focus on the other characters instead of just being The Artyom Show, and the other characters taking active roles in the various missions helped provide a feeling of all being in it together, again instead of Artyom Saves the Metro. It's a little amusing imo that we've suddenly forgotten all about The Dark Ones.

It looks and performs great as always, and each area has a consistent environmental theme. I got lost at least once in each major area (which also could have contributed to the feeling of it being a long game) - the map is very low-res, and at least once my objective was marked as being the place I had just come from.

I'm interested to see how they're going to bridge the story to Metro 2039.
