I'm doing a summer camp at the college for middle/high schoolers. Planning to fabricate some mini trebuchet kits they can assemble (to launch ping pong balls) and then make a "big" one we can wheel outside afterwards for fun. Working on little prototypes currently.

Does anyone have any good resources on trebuchet specs?

I'm still iterating and working on ideas. The Mythbusters video made me realize duct tape is actually a great pouch material. It took me too long to realize all I needed to do for a release was cut an angled slot in the end.

This is pretty cool at the moment but I'll keep trying various slings. Need to figure out a simple way to make weights as well, this is a block with two 3/8" bolts.

I am having so much fun prototyping this. I'm a little disappointed I can't have the class be this in depth. I have to find a balance between what is pre-made and what they can tinker with.

I wish the Pumpkin Chunkin festival were still in Delaware. I always enjoyed the different trebuchet designs.
