i don't know if i and many gay people just like lamps, but straight people's living spaces have terrible lighting. are they not afraid of the big light? the vibes feel very...corporate.
@yesjohn
The Straights love their all-encompassing fluorescent lighting and it sickens me.
@zeiroslion it's so violent and bad
@yesjohn
Literally hurts my brain.
@yesjohn Illuminate me warmly, and indirectly, I beg of you 🕯️

@yesjohn Brutalism 2.0, or minimalism as they prefer to call it.

Most nights our living room is colored in Vaporwave while me and hubby are gaming, seems I still like that old arcade aesthetic, and a lot less glare for the astigmatism, heh.

@yesjohn the overhead lights in my apartment have seen 0 use and I intend to keep it that way
@gruff only when looking for a thing!
@gruff @yesjohn I think this idea also skews with age. When my team and I moved into an adjacent office suite, the four of us decided that the overhead lights were never ever to be turned on because they were nasty and unnecessary. (To clarify, I'm a queer surrounded by three hets.) I have one indirect lamp in my office and I'm satisfied with that.
