The lights start to dim, you think to yourself "im paying $1000 a month in electricity for this?" As you prepare for the rolling blackout you wonder how long can your food last in the fridge.

Elsewhere, an executive shares a 2 minute ai generated video of them surfing with their companies logo while playing a riff on a keytar. The email reads "look at this sick video i just made, do we even need videographers anymore?"

It's all so disorienting and dehumanizing, which I suppose is the point.

Intellectually, I know that the answer is collective action through good governance to build and maintain a grid based on renewables that serves our community's collective interests.

But the bastards have broken our government, economy, and society so badly and so thoroughly that I keep feeling this need to withdraw into my own bubble, build an individual solution that might inefficiently and sparingly serve my own individual needs.

Anyway, I guess that's the story of how I've got another set of portable solar panels scheduled for delivery later today.
