Ok it has been a bit since I did this, and i definitely worded the last one wrong. I'm looking for my fellow #NVDA users to suggest Add-On that are not in the store.I'm on 2026.1, and already use Add-On Documentation, #Braille Extender, Resource Monitor, and VLC.

#Accessibility, #Blind, #ScreenReaders, @main @mastoblind

@dhamlinmusic For me, the one which is most useful while not being in the store is Global Extension
https://github.com/paulber19/NVDAExtensionGlobalPlugin
No idea why it isn't in the store but it's stunning in all it does and has been available for quite a few years now. IBMTTS is not in the store, but works well, as do many of the other eloquence add-ons
https://github.com/davidacm/NVDA-IBMTTS-Driver
Obviously, Remote Companion
https://github.com/gozaltech/NVDARemoteCompanion
isn't in the store, it's not an add-on, but it's very useful for those of us who want to run a bunch of machines from one keyboard.

@techsinger Hmm another one that certainly conflicts with Braille Extender.
@dhamlinmusic Do you mean braille extender or braille essentials, the new one? Braille extender works with global extension here, unless I'm missing something.
@techsinger I'm on the Extender Dev build which works with 2026, what's Essentials?
@dhamlinmusic It's a fork of extender which has been modernized. I have yet to switch to it but hope it will get more dev time than extender has gotten lately https://groups.google.com/a/nvaccess.org/g/nvda-users/c/qm2XVUDOrPo/m/yKukuaeLBgAJ
Braille Essentials 26.05.2 (requires NVDA 2025.3.3)

@techsinger Yeah my only major gripe with Extender is my open issue where the place end marker and alt+shift+tab hotkeys are the same and therefore the place markers do not function.
@dhamlinmusic As I said, I really hope essentials gets a bit more work now that it's new. The main dev of extender is a bit more focused on AI at the moment and has done really good work with AI Hub, but extender is exceedingly useful for NVDA braille, I wish it could be fixed/updated/generally helped.
@dhamlinmusic I should say that I'm still using 2023 for 7 and 2025 for 10, so haven't moved to 2026 on anything.
