Not even 70 pages in and this is already deep, inventive, and heavy.

@paulsemel I envy you. There is nothing like the first time through that series. The scope, the depth, inventiveness, originality, and characters... true art that has no equal.

@paulsemel I often wonder what makes a book a best seller and accessibility doesn't always seem to be the factor.

I bought La Biblioteca de la Medianoche (The Midnight Library) in Spanish whilst in Spain in March, ostensibly to improve my Spanish. I have been reading it in English to make reading it in Spanish easier (if that makes any sense) and it's good, but not good enough in my humble opinion to warrant over 1M sales. But what do I know? However, accessible it is, by which I mean most people will get something out of it while reading! Now, for a comfortable read, when all I want is to hide away from the world, I tuck into Annie Eileen Rogers' Heythwaite trilogy, the antics of a small Yorkshire town! Onto her third now so I will have to find something anew when I have finished this one.
