@DorotheaLange @LabSpokane I know that area very well. I used to work there on cherry orchards. There's still some dryland wheat farming in that area, but not much. It's mostly west of there, on a bench over the Columbia river. The area is widely irrigated now, thanks to the Grand Cooley Dam and Banks Lake. Irrigation canals crisscross the area.
