@ai6yr when I figured out that you could use sheets as cheap fabric instead of buying something at $7/yard, my costuming ability went through the roof. I have so many costumes made with fabric from old sheets.
(Now I actually use the good materials because my skill is enough that cotton fabric is the worst part of the outfit)
