The most dangerous words in world history: "Land Reform"

Explanation: The Brothers Gracchi were reformers during the Late Roman Republic who proposed the most horrific words imaginable to the increasingly-wealthy Senatorial aristocracy - land reform!
You see, since the Mid-Republic, Rome had been incredibly successful at war. But as usual in world history, it was the rich who primarily benefitted from these wars, while the poor were lucky to break even. This resulted in an increasing population of farmers whose land ownership was marginal, or completely landless laborers. The Brothers Gracchi proposed redistributing land to the poorest citizens of Rome, that they might be productive citizens to continue the GLORY OF ROME. On the power of this platform, they were elected to high offices by the people of Rome.
… both of the brothers were extrajudicially murdered by the ultrawealthy Senatorial aristocracy.
… the Republic was thus saved, and there would definitely NOT be 5 brutal civil wars born of political tension in the next 100 years, eventually ending the Republic entirely. /s
