Does anyone know if the new #Pebble smartwatch is supported by #GadgetBridge? I'd really like to get back into sleep tracking.
I just don't want to hand my data over to anyone.

@rl_dane Pretty sure it is, but you lose out on features. Micro Pebble is a really good OSS alternative.
I helped test both the Time 2 and the Duo and was not impressed with the Time 2 at all. Colours are dull. But now they've enabled the speaker and touch screen it could be better, I just cba with it. The company is a mess and gave back nothing to rebble.
Do you have any hardware recommendations? All I really care about is good sleep tracking.
@rl_dane I'd also love something that just does sleep tracking, I've heard the sonar based devices aren't great. I'm sure sleep for android listed some kind of band that does tracking. I don't have the app installed right now.
Sleep as android by itself with your phone placed on the matterace is really good, it's what helped me realise I had sleep apnea. Just have to get used to the weird UI.
This one?

Does it work without networking?
Thanks, trying it out!!
From elsewhere on the thread, it seems MicroPebble is a good FOSS client.
Nice! Who and what does the internet helper send info to, is it known? Is that part FOSS as well?
@rl_dane
The internet helper is a small app that provides low-level networking capabilities to Gadgetbridge so that Gadgetbridge itself doesn't need to request the INTERNET permission. The app itself doesn't do anything, it just allows Gadgetbridge to access the appstore and forward internet requests from watch apps. More info here: https://gadgetbridge.org/basics/topics/internet/
And of course it's open source: https://codeberg.org/Freeyourgadget/Internethelper
