Yesterday I was talking with the IT manager of a #hospital in a city nearby, she told me they're spending around 100 000€ yearly to Microsoft for their licences (#Windows, Teams, Office).
I thought "wow with that much money we should be able to have everything running on premise using free softwares, and make some savings".
When mentionned she said there was no #OpenSource alternative that was nearly as good (for VM too).
I wish we had data sovereignty for our public health services in France..

@thejaysunday après la France a quand même un point d'avance sur pas mal de voisins européens avec le projet de #lasuitenumerique qui repose sur des briques libres. Faut voir le côté positif c'est sûr. Mais dans l'éducation et le domaine de la santé, je trouve ça tellement dommage qu'on soit autant dépendant de Microsoft pour tout alors qu'avec un peu de volonté, on l'aurait déjà dégagé depuis un bon moment.
