Today on "can't make this shit up":

I've been in a German hospital for a few weeks. For every meal we get to pick from three options. My hospital roomie picked "fish and chips".

Lo and behold:

@valcurious This might be the best british-person-in-germany post ever
@aesthr It's beautiful isn't it? Like. I cannot tell if this is humour or a dead serious attempt at fish and chips without knowing what it is. We're still chuckling at this an hour later
@valcurious @aesthr That is equal to serving spaghetti with ketchup and call it spaghetti bolognese.
@Amorpheus @valcurious @aesthr There is no such thing as "Spaghetti Bolognese". Italians view that abomination exactly like Brits do the "Chips" here.
@virbonus @Amorpheus @valcurious @aesthr There clearly isn't no such thing as spaghetti Bolognese, it's just not how Italians serve Bolognese sauce. You might as well insist deep dish pizza doesn't exist
@kittyboy77 @virbonus @valcurious @aesthr I really regret not havin' brought up a Vitello Tonnato analogy... 🫤
@Amorpheus @virbonus @valcurious @aesthr Honestly the mental image you invoked was the right kind of terrible IMO but yes, that probably fits
