Disabled people desperately need safe, secure and affordable housing.

Control over one’s environment is essential when you’re chronically ill.

Housing insecurity worsens overall health.

We could easily provide for everyone, but ableism makes society blame the sick instead.

i had some medical issues recently, and although they are small in comparison to what some deal with daily, i was humbled by how much more difficult daily tasks became.

@DonChacale yes! I wish more people would understand this. When you’re dealing with serious medical issues the most simple things can become extremely difficult.

If you have an energy limiting condition it’s doubly hard.

i've also a friend whose life was completely derailed by a rare form of narcolepsy... able bodied persons , by and large, have ZERO understanding... and often little empathy. i now have more than i did. perhaps i could do more going forward for supporting these issues...perhaps volunteering...

I’ve been reminded by a wise person that ABILITY IS TEMPORARY

(Wish I could recall who told me that, I’d give credit…)

@broadwaybabyto
Ableism is chauvinism with anti disabled characteristics. Mass oppression needs chauvinism to divide the people. Fighting individual forms of chauvinism without mentioning the strategic character solves nothing and leads to despair and moaning.

What is needed is this: to be able to militarize a country against the will of its people, you need to sow division. By pointing at one another, they wont point at the reason for militarization and destruction of public health: profit.
