At #Hungary new PM and parliament swearing in: after the MPs took their oath in Hungarian, the two other languages that followed were Romani languages of the minority representatives - Lovari and Beas (Bayash) followed by Romanian and Croatian.
The new, female speaker of the national assembly of Hungary, Agnes Forsthoffer, says in her first speech about the parliament: 'this will be a house of modesty, humility and of the will to serve' and her first instruction is to hang the EU flag again on the building (it was gone for 10 ys)
For a bit of context: all 195 MPs in the Hungarian parliament are from centre right or far right parties - Magyar Peter's Tisza party has 2/3 majority - the key to not just a change of government, but for regime change, after 16 ys of Viktor Orban's rule. Viktor Orban faces a high-stakes showdown

BBC
Excerpts from the inauguration speech of Hungary's new PM Peter Magyar:

"There is no new beginning without reconciliation. But there is no reconciliation without justice

It is symbolic that the two eponymous prime ministers of the Orbán-Gyurcsány era are not sitting here in the pews, so that we can speak openly and clearly about the legacy they left us"

"Not simply because their parties lost, but because they failed politically, humanly, and morally.

They plundered, robbed, betrayed, and led Hungary, and when they should have taken responsibility, they turn away, resign, retreat, and wash their hands."

"The outgoing government managed to cover more than 90 percent of the annual budget deficit in 3 months. Even in the last hours and days, the fallen government tried to steal everything that could be moved."
"The state, instead of its own citizens, facilitated the enrichment of a narrow political and economic elite, while trillions of forints disappeared from foundations, the National Bank, through overpriced and unnecessary investments, and into the pockets of political clients."
"Millions of people have lost their faith in the fact that the country can still be a just, humane, common homeland for all Hungarians."
"we will learn to think of ourselves as a nation again, even if we come from different places, have different experiences or voted for a different political community... We will strengthen the language of trust, humanity and common patriotism"
"Hungary cannot build a new era on hushed up crimes, hidden contracts, public assets used for private interests, and abuses of power left unpunished. The Hungarian people have the right to know how the power system of the past decades worked"
"They have the right to know what decisions led to a significant part of the nation's common wealth being concentrated in the hands of a narrow political and economic elite. They have the right to know how public money became private wealth."
"Those in power have emptied the system of checks and balances, left the nation alone in its troubles. Therefore, here, in the house of Hungarian democracy, I call on those public dignitaries and institutional leaders who have become, or have always been, political servants of the past system ...
to have the courage to face their own responsibility and step aside from the path of Hungary's democratic renewal. Resign today, but no later than May 31, and let Tamás Sulyok (the current president of Hungary) take the lead immediately."
"We heard Tamás Sulyok talk about representing the entire nation, about the rule of law, for the first time in two years, about worrying about the rule of law. It is ironic, Mr. President, that this has not been achieved, has not been achieved in the past two years"
"It has not been achieved, for example, when Viktor Orbán, the failed Prime Minister, called half the country an insect to be exterminated. Mr. President, it has not been achieved when Viktor Orbán or the President of the Curia threatened and punished judges, artists, and civilians....
and it has not been achieved, Mr. President, when we should have stood up for minors who were ruined in child protection, and it has not been achieved when the now failed government sent the secret services to the largest opposition party."

"It has not been achieved, Mr. President, when the failed Prime Minister poured billions of public funds into war hatred on all Hungarians, including our children.

How can you embody the unity of this beautiful nation after all this cowardice, neglect, and lies?"

"it's time to leave with your head held high while you still can.
True reconciliation cannot be born from unspoken pain, unspoken sins, and unhealed wounds. We will not be able to open a new era if we are not able to face those who have been let down, humiliated, or abandoned by the Hungarian state"
"Allow me to apologize as the Prime Minister of Hungary. As the newly elected and sworn-in Prime Minister of Hungary, I apologize to the victims of Bicske. I apologize also to the victims of Szőlő Street. I apologize to all victims of the child protection system."
"I ask you to watch us, to hold us accountable for our promises, to argue with us, and to never allow anyone to abuse the authority you have given them."
