A particularly big and pretty clump of cowslips on the grounds of St. Patrick’s College in #Maynooth. #Bloomscrolling
@bbusschots beautiful picture! I love the depth of field and the middle contrast. It gives me a soft feeling, sunny and warm. Schlüsselblume (key flower) it's called in Germany. :-)

@madiko thanks!

I thought the Schlüsselblume was th related flower we call the primrose? Same leaves, but slightly bigger individual flowers growing on individual short stems lower to the ground rather than these smaller flowers grouped together on taller stems?

@bbusschots primrose is a different flower, we call it "Primel". They flourish in gardens and as a pot plant on balconies:

But you are right, they are more alike as I realised before.

Do you know the app @FloraIncognita_DE? It helps with naming flowers :-)

Inspired by this month’s category I stretched out my walk today to spend some time on the woodland trial in Carton House near Maynooth. Lots of stuff…

@bbusschots indeed, that's what I ment with Primel (differend kind of flower).
@madiko fascinating — in Flemish/Dutch we use sleutelbloem for the primrose!
