Down here in #Kent we had a little election. Not one single Reformer was returned

Liberal Democrats HELD Tunbridge Wells Borough Council

The party gained three councillors in this year's Local Elections, picking up seats from Labour and the Conservative Party. The Tories dropped one seat, while Labour lost two to the Lib Dems.

OK, so it's not the most exciting post of the day xxx

@Geri
It's better than the depressing picture here in Wales of a vote split between the racists and the nationalists. Happy to see Labour getting its complacency rewarded with the Royal Order of the Boot, but depressing to see the Sennedd heading for potential deadlock. At least we won't have so much influence from Westminster with Labour out, I hope.
@stevedurbin @Geri Personally, all my life I've seen colonies being given independence, some retain the UK sovereign as their head of state some do not. Most have to a greater or lesser extent thrived: a bit like Britain dependent on how much big money is able to buy elections.
So I'm relaxed about parties that want self determination, I suspect a break up of England would help it thrive too. The City of London must loose it's primacy given to it in 1214 by bad King John!

@Geri

Kudos to the people there for *not* going for the 'Reform' option.

About the only reason I'd want them in Kent is that it might make it easier to push them into the sea.πŸ€”

@Geri Better than average result though

@Geri Could be exciting *if* it means people can see the ballsup Reform are making at the county level, and would rather avoid them.

More optimistic than wondering why folks in (say) the northeast can’t put the 2 + 2 of experience together and avoid voting for Nazis. Again.

@BashStKid This is why I have been posting about their mistakes on the #kcc hashtag

Including when they tried to remove #trans literature from Maidstone Library xxx

@Geri Living up to their Nazi ideals.
@Geri I'm all for unexciting politics, except I want to drop the Thatcher-Reagan belief that Mont Pelerinism is the only way: there are no alternatives. Humans are social animals so society can expend the resources available to it provided it taxes to control the inflation caused by the rich and highly paid.
