what's the dumbest shit in AI annoying everyone today, I need to write one up

I cannot express how angry the recent push to consider the "wellbeing" of token generators (while ignoring the wellbeing of humans) makes me.

@peter_mcmahan @davidgerard this definitely should be on top... I'm sick of hearing techbros talking about feelings of machines and software, at the same time mercilessly exploiting their workers, living and feeling human beings.
@madargon @davidgerard
I've been seeing an upsurge in this kind of discourse recently. Generally more discussion around "please dont be mean to the token generators" like this from Troy Hunt a couple of weeks ago https://www.troyhunt.com/weekly-update-501/
Weekly Update 501

This is so "peak 2026" - writing an equality policy to ensure people treat our AI bot with the same respect as they do their human counterparts. It's intentionally a bit tongue-in-cheek, but it's there for a purpose: we simply don't have the capacity to deal with every request we

sorry did he just use the word Robophobia?

@pikesley @peter_mcmahan @madargon so many people wanting to fuck linear algebra with a face drawn on

@davidgerard @pikesley @peter_mcmahan @madargon They hate that actual human beings have the ability to tell them they're wrong and say no to their propositions, while with AI, the answer is always yes and in their eyes, true personhood is only ever granted to people who agree with them.

They're so narcissistic that outside perspectives are never sought, nevermind considered, so it only stands to reason the thing they really want to fuck is a sycophantic virtual mirror, as free of morals as they are, only in it's case it's a quirk of design rather than an intentional choice.

@Rycochet @davidgerard @pikesley @peter_mcmahan @madargon

It's an intentional *systematic* choice, it's the end product of 50 years of research into how to gaslight "Turing Test Judges" into thinking that parody generators are people. The sycophancy is included because it works.

@davidgerard @pikesley @peter_mcmahan @madargon Personally I am more into fucking nonlinear algebras because they have more interesting curves.

bonus post: shoutouts to my girlfriend

can't get this from an ai

@studio369 Why this reminds me of the "I are programmer. I make computer beep boop beep " cat design, I don't know.
bonus bonus post: poop girl loves you
@davidgerard @pikesley @peter_mcmahan @madargon fucking real people involves at least a chance of self-confrontation
