Dirty Frag: a zero-day universal Linux LPE https://lwn.net/Articles/1071719/ #LWN #Linux #security

There were some issues with backporting the fixes, but kernel updates for Dirty Frag have now been released for #Debian unstable and the 3 supported stable releases.

I also updated the backported kernel packages (6.1 for bullseye, 6.12 for bookworm, 7.0 for trixie) but binaries are not yet available.

@bwh a big thank you from all of us relying on these updates.
@bwh Are the rxrpc ones in there? I thought there was some fun with it still being discussed?
@penguin42 v2 of the rxrpc fix is there, along with its dependencies (as best I could work out). v3 of that fix improved performance slightly, which I think is a very minor consideration in the circumstances.
@bwh Ah great; it's been quite tricky following where it's upto given the rxrpc following behind. Thanks for the quick work.
@bwh many thanks for your (and other's) work!
@bwh It never rains…
