I don't have much practice at making my own patterns, I just do a lot of modifying.
Ha. Like with code. I don't think I ever wrote anything from scratch but I once frankensteined nine instances of Matt's Script Archive guestbook together to create a CMS with separate logins per section. Have done a lot of that kind of thing.
Anyway, this one isn't getting the geometric precision of most projects. I'm just charting the drawing.

Okay I'm calling it. Something went wrong going around the outside before the mouth, and the rest is trying to compensate, and now the text probably won't fit.
Sigh. Okay gonna try again on this one. I'll do all the text first and if that means removing stitches to make room, that's what I'll do.
Okay. I did pick out and restitch a couple sections. Snek looks made of play-doh but still a lot better than before.
All done. Not thrilled with it, but it's okay. I'll probably do a better one in the future.
