I watched some stuff.

Jingle Bell Heist
Predictable but cute holiday heist movie. Our criminals commit the crime for the best of reasons and everything ends happily ever after. A nice holiday distraction.

Primo
This coming-of-age comedy is about teen Rafa who is being raised by his competent (and possibly saintly) mom. Unfortunately he's also being raised by his five uncles aka the brothers his mom is still raising even as they're adults. It's sweet, hectic, funny, and all the loving things I dream of families being. The uncles' constant brotherly fighting is the funniest part.

Best Medicine
A doctor with poor bedside manner and secret manpain takes a new job in a rural area. He's going to learn lessons about friends and family or something. I'm watching for Dan (Josh Charles) & Billyonce (Josh Segarra), though I don't love this role for Segarra.

Abbot Elementary
I'm enjoying school in a mall. Especially Melissa's hair. I also had large 80s hair, but she's a goddess.

Owl House
I'm finally watching season 2. If you've watched you know exactly what I mean when I smile and say "ah, this show." It's so kind, so wonderful, just a really sweet and relaxing experience. (omg I just watched ep 8!)

Legends of Tomorrow
This is a comfort rewatch and I am writing while watching. I'm not sure, maybe this'll be a post per season or something because I do have things I want to talk about. I also have several of my impressions from the first time I watched it on my DW, so that's nerd catnip and I'll be comparing. Like my very own research project about me.

Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair

  • Don't think of it as episodes, think of it as a movie, and binge accordingly.
  • They had a CGI budget for this thing and used it in the very best way, to show us Hal high. Bryan Cranston is great.
  • Turns out I remembered no one's friends, except Stevie. I love the life they created for him.
  • I cried so much at the end and it was worth it to remember how this family loved each other.

School Spirits Season 3

  • The Bereftest Club was my favorite episode. Quin's entire musical scene was fantastic, both technically and emotionally. I'll be nominating this for a Hugo next year.
  • I adore Jennifer Tilly! As far as I'm concerned she should be in all horror shows because she is that good at it. Nobody chews horror scenery quite like she does.
  • Interesting season finale, fun set up for the future. This season opened up new worlds for them to explore.

Suburgatory

  • Season 3 was terrible and felt only distantly related to the previous seasons.
  • It is never good to add a new child to a sitcom. That's always a sign.

Inheritance / Spadek (2024)

  • Promising start. Going for The Westing Game, Agatha Christie, Knives Out.
  • The puzzles and gadgets are fun. Like a child's imagination.
  • This is more fun than mysterious.
