Work on atomic Fedora continues with Fedora Atomic Desktops 44!

The changes made to the mainline variants of these desktops apply, like Gnome 50 and KDE Plasma 6.6. There are also some changes that may affect you if you use AppImages or KDE Vault. Budgie Atomic and COSMIC Atomic are also updated.

However, the best news is how Atomics Desktops continue to evolve toward running as bootable containers as we target Fedora 45 for migrating to Image Builder!

We are also testing sealed bootable container images! These are installs which "include all the components needed to create a fully verified boot chain, from the firmware to the operating system composefs image."

Please give them a try and give us feedback.

@fedora @gnome

Just upgraded from 43 to 44 with GNOME 50. Smooth. Beautiful. I mean, why businesses, government and schools do not move over completely to linux at this point is beyond me. This is not the days of Slackware or even Warty Warthog (Ubuntu 4.10).

Thank you Fedora for doing what you do.

@fedora @gnome @kde дива. а як я ще в суботу оновився.
@fedora @gnome @kde
Definitely, would like to upgrade from 43 to 44 soon.
@kde #gsconnect extension, managed by #Github is not yet updated for @gnome 50. Either update the same at earliest or at least confirm that it's abandoned.
@fedora @gnome @kde I heard the middle mouse button is broken in this release. Gonna wait until this gets fixed before upgrading.
@maurice @fedora @gnome @kde Nothing is broken? Primary clipboard just got disabled by default. You can enable it back if you desire so
Disable primary-paste by default (!119) · Merge requests · GNOME / gsettings-desktop-schemas · GitLab

This is an X11ism, originally an xsetting 1 which frequently results is in unexpected behavior when people pressing the middle mouse button....

@fedora @gnome @kde I will definitely upgrade soon. I switched to Fedora from Ubuntu one year ago, and I love it 🙂
Can't wait to try it!
@fedora @gnome @kde 🥳 upgrading right now
@fedora @gnome @kde one click update which went smooth as butter. GNOME 50 is amazing. Thank you so, much for your work!
