I haven't seen a live play in decades. Do actors all use microphones now? In the theater troupe which I hung around with in High School it was clear that one of the important skills was being able to project your voice.

My main takeaway was the person who did the sound must have had the most fun.

My Father claims that he was supposed to have gone to the Circus that day. He doesn't remember why they never ended up going.
