I might be wrong, but they don’t seem to be playing the new Massive Attack/Tom Waits song on 6 Music at the moment.

I was only curious to see if they thought the term “big titties” should be censored, but I’m now wondering if they’re being told not to play antiwar songs.

A former chairman of the parish council here in #Sawston used to say there were two parcels of land in the village traditionally known as "Big Titties" and "Little Titties".

@Nickiquote

Thinking about it, I'm guessing that they were two parcels of land alloted in exchange for tithes at the time of the inclosure of the fields, and some Victorian conveyancer in a hurry misread the word "tithes" in the weird font that's used in the inclosure documentation, and wrote it into a conveyance as "titties".

@only_ohm I can't wait to see the protest signs when someone tries building a housing estate on them. @Nickiquote

I think only the former parish council chairman who said it knows exactly where Big Titties and Little Titties are: he only gave the rest of us a pretty rough description of the location. However, in the general area he indicated, there is a field marked on the inclosure award as "1st allotment to the vicar for tithes", and that field is divided into two unequal parts by an important drainage ditch. 1/2

I have a best guess that Big Titties is the larger section of that field and Little Titties is the smaller section. If so, the whole area is in EA flood zone 2, and there are still a few safer places in the village where anyone who wanted to build a housing estate would probably prefer to do so.
