Reading an article on the top 100 BBC music performances (https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2022/oct/06/the-100-greatest-bbc-music-performances-ranked) and spotted Battles playing Atlas on Jools Holland. Had no idea that was something anyone could play live. Utterly mesmerising.

Or that their drummer used to play for Helmet. Bit like finding out who Buckets is.

They also have a link to Lynryrd Skynyrd playing Free Bird on the Old Grey Whistle Test. I've never *seen* this played, and I was fascinated by the way Van Zant communicated with the rest of the band using his teeth and his stage position. The moment just before THAT solo reminded me of Bob Hoskins taking Jet Li's collar off in Unleashed. Collins is relatively quiet until that moment, the focus all on Rossington's slide.
