@hisham_hm OMG that is an awesome floof!
@hisham_hm can you, please, bring Gobolinux back to life? Thank you.
@solnce I wish I had the time and the energy :) Thank you for the kind words!
@hisham_hm I love (still) Gobolinux idea very much and even used it for some time as a daily driver (14.1 I guess). Sadly it didn't pickup. I think it could become a breaking point for Desktop linux - how big it was at that time!
Now people have to use as a desktop the linux developed by server companies. Not surprise it never gains more than 2% of desktop market share.
@hisham_hm It's like a riding a truck to work and shopping - it's ok, you can ride it but it's not for the purpose and not the most convenient thing.
@hisham_hm Another great sad story is DesktopBSD. BSD, in my opinion, had a better chance becoming mainstream Desktop OS (less restrictive license, holistic approach to development etc.), but didn't have such strong corporate push, marketing budgets etc. like linux had. Hence - another niche OS. DesktopBSD was a true gem for what it was and passed away to early. I must be have an ISO somewhere yet...
@hisham_hm Nevertheless, thank you for Gobolinux ❤️ and brilliant idea behind it. It's so relieving to know that not all linux people are locked in /etc /bin.
Good luck!
