What are your thoughts on ultrawide monitors?

I wanted to get a second monitor and then I saw they also have ultrawide. But the cost is about double another 27".

I'm on macos if that makes any difference. I will be using it for office work.

@jeffmcneill Thanks, that was an interesting read and really detailed. If I were to get one, it would be a 1080 model as 4K stuff is way to expensive here.
